Avni is an open-source field work and data collection platform. With Avni, you can build your own MIS, ensure data quality, visualise data to monitor progress, and communicate with your field workers.
MIS systems in the development sector need to be cheap and powerful at the same time.
Being a product built for India, we understand the unique needs for a software to be used in India. We also understand the diverse needs that go into building a field-worker application. People need Avni in their own language. Avni is currently being used in English, Hindi, Gujarati, Marathi, Kannada and Tamil. In rural areas, internet connectivity is a problem. Avni can be used completely offline. It is hard for small organisations to keep and maintain servers. Avni is hosted on the cloud. For sensitive information, data needs to stay in the country. Avni is hosted in Mumbai, India. And many such small things that make it truly Indian.
Today, Avni has been used in 30+ projects (by 25+ NGOs) and has touched the lives of a million people. There are active projects in Health, Education, WASH, Waste management, Social security and more.
Avni is primarily developed and maintained by a team of experts at Samanvay Research and Development Foundation (https://www.samanvayfoundation.org/), a not-for-profit organisation building IT solutions for the development sector.
