Healthcare systems, hospitals and other organisations in health sector are increasingly realising the benefits of relying upon the project management to help then navigate their way forward and override the challenges. Having project management skills has become important on all levels in the organization. A practical learning of project management in these times is essential to manage changes and achieve effectiveness in work. More than ever, now healthcare industry has a pressing need to adopt the project management and develop practical skills to implement. About the Facilitator

Mr. Piyush Kumar, Associate Dean and Associate Professor

Mr. Piyush has more than 15 years of experience in healthcare industry. Currently, Piyush leads and manages the Centre for Learning and Development at IIHMR Bangalore and is actively involved in training of healthcare professional and development of new training initiatives. He has published papers and articles in national and international journals and mentored session in Workshop on Best Practices for Empowering the Health Workforce through Digital Upskilling” organised by Workforce Development Agency (WDA), Ministry of Labor, Taiwan.

Prior to joining academics, he has worked with Fortis Healthcare, Jaypee Healthcare and Frost & Sullivan, a leading research and consulting firm in Transformational health. He has experience of managing many research and consulting projects assignments across Middle East, South Asia and North Africa, for the leading healthcare and non-healthcare players. In this role, he has been supporting clients on their strategic growth initiatives for expansions, mergers and operations improvement. Piyush worked with some of large healthcare groups in India at various strategic roles in managing and improving the operations efficiency of the hospitals besides planning, commissioning, and managing the medical services of Buddh International Circuit- India’s only formula one racing track.

Piyush holds a master’s degree in health and Hospital Management from IIHMR University, Jaipur. He is a passionate traveller and enjoys reading.
