Impact of Design Thinking in the Social Sector


Introduction
Design thinking is a process for solving challenging problems by identifying and prioritizing the consumer's needs above all else. It relies on observing, with empathy, how people interact with their environments, and employs an iterative, hands-on approach to creating innovative solutions. In this one hour, we would try to understand the fundamental concept of design thinking, and how it can be applied to solve challenges in the social sector.

About the Facilitator
Gauri Mohan

Gauri is a global IDEO U (Founded By David Kelley, Head of d.school, Stanford University) Coach for Design Thinking, Innovation, Strategy & Org. Culture Design with 19+ years of diversified experience, played IT and business centric roles globally (Trainer, Coach, Strategist, Consultant, Manager, Lecturer, Teacher). Helping clients strategize and bring transformation in organizations in areas of Design Thinking, Innovation, Agile, Strategy and Org. Culture Design through Training, Coaching and Consulting. She has been a global corporate instructor for Duke University.
She has applied Design Thinking with blend of Agile, Strategy, Org. Culture Design to bring in innovation to solve complex challenges as a practitioner and coach in diverse areas from corporates, start-ups, educators and students (university & schools), government to social.
Prior to this have been an SAP consultant for organizations like SAP, IBM, GM, Campbell, Bombardier, Radico Khaitan and many others. She has been a mentor for Nasscom.
She started her career as Computer Science School Teacher for Grade 11 and 12th in DPS Mathura Road. She loves helping people solve diverse challenges with human centered design approach and build their creative confidence.
