The path-breaking and game-changing CSR mandate in India is now almost a decade old. Since the rollout of Section 135 of Companies Act 2013 from 1st April 2014 there has been much action! Corporates, NGOs, Government and the Academia have all proactively participated in collaborations and convergences. The Ministry of Corporate Affairs (MCA), GO, is the Nodal Ministry that monitors all compliances on CSR. There have been numerous Notifications, Circulars and Amendments over the last 8 years that the MCA has brought about. Two High Level Committees on CSR have provided useful recommendations based on feedback from stakeholders and in depth data analysis of mandatory CSR Reporting by eligible corporates.

CSR is not merely y a compliance today, as it has become a key enabler for nation building in 21st Century India. It is therefore imperative that all stakeholders fully understand the evolving framework of CSR compliances, its implications, and how they must move forward to maximise impact.

The Workshop on Understanding CSR Compliance and Way Forward will reinforce core elements of CSR, the macro outcomes attained, amendments to compliance brought about, and how key steps and action points must be kept in mind by all concerned as the way forward.
